Ellen Batty has been a published journalist since February 2026. Currently, she’s a reporter and journalistic photographer for The Huntingtonian. At Huntington University, Batty learned valuable newswriting skills in her Intro to Newswriting course.

Journalistic Photography
In addition to writing, Batty also has experience in journalistic photography. She has photographed for The Huntingtonian, focusing on color, action, and dynamics.
The Huntingtonian
The Huntingtonian is Huntington University’s student newspaper. While The Huntingtonian started in 1918, the newspaper took a break from publication in 2022 before reopening four years later, in 2026. Ellen Batty was honored to serve as one of the first reporters contributing to the paper’s revival, helping to start a new chapter of student journalism for Huntington University.
Ellen Batty is also the social media manager for the Huntingtonian’s Instagram.
